Haley Duke and BGO to Host Firefly Festival at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A handwoven performance space shimmering with 10,000+ fairy lights will set the stage for a family-friendly midsummer celebration at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.

Organized by Haley Duke and the BGO, the Firefly Festival will take place from 6 – 11 p.m. Sunday, June 21.

Jugglers, fire spinners, fairies, will be on hand, and artist Jo Ann Kaminsky and friends will present a puppet play.

Musical performers include David’s Pegasus, Mountain Sprout, Hosta, Devil's Promenade, Justches.

Children may make masks and wands and participate in a procession of giant puppets.

A chopped art bicycles will parade around the grounds while Night Blossom will perform a firefly themed fire performance.

Justchess will also be presenting a interactive video installation where audience members actually mix video of themselves!

Fairies, jugglers, unicyclists will grace the park with a carvival-like whimsy.

What a wonderful way to celebrate Father's Day and the Solstice in the same blow! Last year brought 1000 people, let's see how big we can make it this year!

“It’s a fun and eclectic mix, perfect for Fayetteville,” said Haley Duke, an artist who organized entertainment for the event. “People of all ages who love gardens, art and music will have a great time at the Firefly Festival.”

Costumes, masks and picnicking are encouraged! Arsaga's, Yancey's, and Petra will sell refreshments and cold drinks will be sold, as well.

Individual tickets now available at Nightbird Books on Dickson.

Admission, payable at door, is $6 per person or $20 per family.
